Bobcat of Tampa Bay, the leader in sales, service and rental of compact construction equipment, parts and products has an opportunity for an energetic and experienced Service Manager.  The Service Manager is responsible for the overall day-to-day business operation of the Service Department.

 

Job Description:

The Service Manager, in conjunction with the Parts, Rental and Sales departments, is an essential and integral component in providing the complete range of service and support that customers expect and demand.

 

The Service Manager has primary responsibility for ensuring customer satisfaction with the service department, providing leadership to all service personnel and maintaining positive P&L performance for the department.  Responsibility includes in-shop and road service.

 

Provide service support to customers (walk-in and by telephone) through superior customer skills and communication.

 

Hands on performance as well as oversight of the entire scheduling of service and repair work is required, both in the shop and on the road, including direct interface with service department customers and department personnel, including but not limited to:

  • Customer interaction and follow-up for the determination of repairs to be preformed, including estimating and writing service tickets, processing warranty claims and problem resolution. 
  • Manage and schedule the workflow of repairs for optimum customer satisfaction and technician efficiency.
  • Account, invoice and collect for all work performed, including customer, warranty and internal charges.
  • Collect and process all administrative and financial data related to the service department, including processing all month end reports and financial transactions and invoices in a timely and accurate manner. 
  • Responsible for all personnel and employment related matters for the service department, including but not necessarily limited to manpower planning, hiring, employee and departmental performance, retention, training, payroll input and scheduling. 
  • Responsible for ensuring that all departmental and employee performance is done with a focus on safety first. 

The Service Manager must be knowledgeable about service department operations, be proficient in use of the computer (Word, EXCEL and Lotus Notes) and be customer oriented with excellent telephone and interpersonal skills.  Construction equipment knowledge is a must along with some level of familiarity with the housing and related industries.

 

The Service Manager will work both inside and outside the dealership.  Travel is unlikely, but if needed is generally limited to the Tampa Bay area.  Local candidates strongly preferred, no relocation assistance is available.
